Book 4 of Instrument of Omens is finished!

Hey, everyone,

It’s been awhile since I wrote an update, couple of months actually. It doesn’t mean I haven’t been writing. I have, and in fact, that’s what I wanted to tell y’all about. Bonds of Truths, book 4 of Instrument of Omens is done! It releases on March 25th, and I am absolutely thrilled with how it turned out. Click here for the preorder link.

So many questions raised in A Necessary Heresy are answered or explained, like how will Cinder and Anya troubles resolve? Who is their heretofore unknown but ancient daughter? Fastness and the wraiths… what happened to them? Brilliance meeting the Shokans, that should be fun. All of it’s in there!
Here’s the blurb:
Many truths have been shrouded in deceit. But lies can only last so long…

With five of the Orbs of Peace still at large and threatening the world’s survival, Cinder and Anya set forth to acquire them by any means. But their efforts—be it through simple ruses, espionage, or even war—are doomed if they cannot first shatter the falsehoods that warp their very memories.

Are they the Blessed Ones of prophecy or simply broken avatars? It is a question without an easy answer, hindered as it is by deceptions that aren’t so easily overcome.

And while there is hope, even with the aid of faithful allies—the Shokans, redeemed wraiths, and a heretofore unknown daughter—if Cinder and Anya cannot forge a new path together, the heart of who they are will be irrevocably broken… And the world with it.

The cover is pretty awesome, also:

Btw, did anyone catch how I slipped in that Cinder and Anya have a daughter? I’m not going to give out any more details, though. 🙂

Beyond that, there are a few other things going on in my world. My books are in my local Barnes and Noble, and I’m shocked by how many books have sold. So many that I’m doing a signing in the store for when Bonds of Truths releases. It’ll be on April 1st (not an April Fool’s joke) between 12 noon-3 PM at Barnes and Noble in Hickory, NC and the store’s address is:

Barnes and Noble
Gateway Plaza Shopping Center
2405 Hwy 70 S.E, 2405 US Hwy70 SE
Hickory, NC 28602

Seeing my books in a bookstore is so cool, but doing a book signing at one is definitely bucket list material. So, if you’re in the area, please stop by. And after I recharge the batteries, I’ll probably get started on Eternal Ephemera, book 2. When that happens, though, is a different question. I’ll keep y’all posted.

I’m excited for this newest book! I’ve gone back and listened to Castes and Outcastes, all of the William Wilde and all of this series so far.

In this series it talks about Cinder and Anya being Rukh and Jessira and then falling off the rainbow bridge and ending up where they are now (and showing up years apart), as well as them being named Shokan and Sira and battling Shet. There’s been no reference to this happening in previous books, becoming Shokan and Sira, battling Shet, falling from the bridge, unless I’m missing something. Can you point me in the right direction or is this all supposed to be made up in our own minds or in a series to come? Thanks!!

That’s a lot of reading you’ve put into the Anchored Worlds. Rukh and Jessira are called Rukh and Jessira in Castes and the OutCastes and William Wilde. But at the end of William Wilde, following the battle with Shet, they are thrust back in Earth’s past. It’s in that timeframe of Earth’s past that they become known as Shokan and Sira. Several years/decades (don’t know myself yet), during a peace summit with Shet, they are betrayed and battle Shet on that same anchor line, but this time thousands of years in Earth’s past. Sira is nearly killed, tossed off the anchor line, and manages to save herself by emerging into Seminal about eight years prior to the events in Instrument of Omens and William Wilde. Shokan joins her later on.
Kind of squirrely and complicated, isn’t it?

Ahhhh. Thank you! Yes it is a little squirrelly but now it all makes sense! I thought I was losing it. And me falling in so deep is thanks to audible and Nick Podehl. I’m a fan of his and that led me to you a few months ago.

Everyone of your books are now in my library. So I guess you could say I’m a fan of yours now. Lol. The stories are awesome and thank you for having the courage to share your worlds with us! I get lost in them and forget my worries.

      Hi Jeff,

The plan has always been for 7 books. No more and no less.

Do you have a time table that you are shooting for to publish 5,6, and 7 ?

          • Davis

Not a strict one, but I’m aiming for one book a year, so book 5 in 2024, book 6 in 2025, and book 7 in 2026. I could do it faster, but I’m writing The Eternal Ephemera series at the same time.

Is the eternal ephemera series connected lol

The short answer is ‘yes’. The longer answer is that it takes place after the events of Instrument of Omens and in a different Realm. It’s called Salvation, which might sound familiar. Also, while Rukh/Cinder and Jessira/Anya don’t play a large role, both are present and still very much in love.
