Sounds much like what happened to the Bible by the nicene creed, changing lines and taking out others entirely. Unfortunate manipulation of history and religion by those in power.
You’re right about that chapter. That aspect of written history (which is also very much seen in other religions) was part of the inspiration for what I wrote in that section.
