I’m thisclose to finishing the first draft. It’ll turn out to be about the same size as book 1 (roughly 160,000 words). Just two more chapters to go.

A more typical newsletter this month. We’ll start with what I’m up to. Well, let’s see. On my Facebook page, you might have noticed that I grew a beard. It’s my first beard, other than a goatee when I was in my twenties. I’m not sure about it, but my teenage sons insist I keep…
A bunch of author friends of mine put together a Black Friday sale, and I figured I’d share. Lots of great books, all for just $0.99 or even free! Sable would do anything to protect her younger sister Talia from Kiva, the ruthless gang boss—including keeping secrets: a money stash, a family secret, and her…
Came across these steampunk paintings of mecha and werewolves attacking European peasants. The artist is Jakub Rozalski, who goes by the sobriquet “Mr. Werewolf”, and his paintings are from a set titled World of 1920+, an alternate history that inspired the board game Scythe and a video game. The paintings are wonderful, and I’d definitely read…
Today marks a momentous occasion for me: I get to interview my first author. Andrew Leon Hudson was kind enough to talk to me a little about his recently released short story collection, Dark Matters: Aftermaths. Hi Andrew. Aftermath isn’t the first short story collection you have that deals with the apocalypse. Why do you think…
Where are things with Instrument of Omens right now? How are things going? Good questions. When I started book 5 of Instrument of Omens, I was honestly worried about whether I could actually write the book. It’s been awhile since I’ve been to Seminal, and I had a lot of internal doubts and questions for…
Here’s the link. BTW there’s will be two more chapters after this one that I’ll be posting. After that…well, you’ll just have to read and find out what happens next when the book is released.

Davis,
Way to go! I’m sure it will be a raving success. Can’t wait to read it when it comes out.

I loved the first book and am having a hard time waiting.
The first book is one of my favorite, have read it twice and will read it a third time before reading the second book.
I loved the character development.
Hi Warren,
First of all, I’m sorry I didn’t respond sooner to your post. Thanksgiving got in the way (and lack of reliable internet access). Second, thank you so much for the kind words! For me, it always puts a smile on my face and bounce in my keyboard when I learn how much people enjoy what I’ve written. And of course, I sure hope volume 2 is worth the wait. I’m doing my best to make it so. In the meantime, there is Stories from Arisa, a short story collection you might like. It contains the prologue and chapter 1 of A Warrior’s Knowledge. Many of the characters from A Warrior’s Path make an appearance as well.
Finally, if you don’t mind, I would greatly appreciate it if you could leave a review on Amazon (or wherever you purchased the novel) and Goodreads. Getting the word out that my books even exist is the hardest part of what I do and reviews are so important for that.
