The preorder for Prophecy’s Demand (Instrument of Omens, Book Five) is ready!
I am so glad to be done with this book, and so, so happy with how it turned out. Even better, the preorder is up with a scheduled release date of August 4th, 2026.
And here’s the blurb:
Cinder and Anya have endured endless heartaches and hardships, but can they accept the very erasure of their lives?
Having acknowledged their mantles as the Reborn Blessed Ones, Cinder and Anya have achieved the near-impossible. They have collected six of the seven Orbs of Peace, and best of all, the last one should be the easiest yet. A friend and ally, the Calico dragon, possesses the final Orb.
But Cinder and Anya cannot fight a world-spanning war on their own. Not with enemies looming in every direction: Shet’s forces readying to conquer the world, the rakshasa Duchesses furthering their own ambitions, and Zahhack stirring in his empty Realm.
Additional allies are required.
Yet who can Cinder and Anya trust when supposed friends hide betrayal, unlikely foes offer aid, and a son of their heart, long thought dead, yet lives? And how can they save him and all they hold dear when it requires a sacrifice that might see Cinder and Anya expunged from existence?
The audiobook should be available a month or two later (hopefully) with Nick Podehl narrating.
A little more about the book and what’s been going on in my writing world.
Prophecy’s Demand took a lot longer to write than any other book I’ve ever written, and there’s a reason for that. This book had to tie together a whole lot of loose ends from what I’ve already written, particularly the William Wilde series as well as parts of The Eternal Ephemera and The Castes and the OutCastes.
That can be exhausting—paying such close attention to what’s already been written so I didn’t accidentally contradict myself. It wasn’t always a fun process, but the end result is something that I’m thrilled to have out in the world.
And what has me just as excited is that the finale for Instrument of Omens, should be massively easier to write since I won’t have to blend in story elements from any other prior book or series. For now, I’m taking a small break from writing, but I’ll start back at it in June.
Finally, about that book I wrote in 2024 but never published. It’s called A Broken Destiny, Book One of The Graves and the Graced. It will be published by Aethon Publishing (very happy to work with them) and should be out sometime in 2027. More on that in the future.

PS For those who left comments from prior posts to which I never responded, my sinceresy apologies. I was having all sorts of technical troubles. So many issues, but those are hopefully in the past.
