  • The Solace of Hope by Davis Ashura is the third book in the Eternal Ephemera series in The Anchored Worlds collection of Asian/Indian inspired fantasy. There are no spoilers in this review. As Cam Folde and Light squad return to the Ephemeral Academy for their next academic year, they suffer a terrible betrayal and members of the squad are sent to a new realm to face their most daunting challenges yet. However, this provides new opportunities for personal growth, and growth in their relationships. There are also new characters who may be allies or looking to betray a trust. As I have come to expect from Davis Ashura, this book has lots of teasing banter between good friends, characters from his other series, and the primary characters mature in unexpected ways. Ashura also expands on the system of magic and abilities that are integral to this series. I am really enjoying this entire series, especially the way the adventures, challenges, and hardships contribute to character growth and development.
